Move your body, support your mind, and build healthy habits
Exercise and fitness are important parts of overall well-being. Staying active can improve mood, energy, focus, and stress management while supporting physical health. On campus, fitness can be about much more than working out, it’s about finding movement that fits your life and supports your goals.
Regular movement supports both physical and mental health. Exercise can reduce stress, improve sleep, boost concentration, and increase confidence. It can also provide structure, routine, and opportunities for connection.
On-Campus Opportunities
We strive to foster an environment that encourages members of the campus community to engage in and promote a healthy way of living through physical activity and making healthy decisions in all aspects of life.
Our intramural sports program gives students the opportunity to participate in athletics in a recreational setting. We want to give all members of the campus community an opportunity to compete in athletics in a relaxed atmosphere and enhance their college experience.
Intramurals, or recreational sports, is all the competition without the pressure. It is literally all fun and games such as:
- 5-on-5 basketball
- Co-ed floor hockey
- Sand volleyball
- Frisbee golf
- Table tennis
- Co-ed doubles tournament
- Badminton
- Two-person eight ball billiard league.
These hours are during the academic year. Summer and break hours vary.
- Monday-Thursday: 6am-10pm
- Friday: 6am-7pm
- Saturday: 10am-3pm
- Sunday: 10am-9pm
Our climbing wall is open for all students, staff, & faculty to use in the Huff Athletic Center free of charge. All equipment is provided. Personal equipment maybe used, but it must pass a safety inspection from a climbing wall staff member. Climbing Wall hours are posted at the Control Desk in the Trotter Fitness Complex.
Climbing wall staff members perform general maintenance on the wall, set routes, and instruct individuals on proper climbing and belaying techniques. All routes are clearly marked but feel free to use your imagination to create new ways of climbing the wall. During assisted climbing times trained staff members are available to help in climbing or teach you how to climb.

Fitness Is Not One-Size-Fits-All
There is no single “right” way to exercise. Fitness can be about strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, or stress relief. What matters most is finding movement that supports your health, fits your lifestyle, and feels good for your body.
If exercise feels overwhelming or hard to start, support is available. Exploring campus fitness options and focusing on realistic, flexible goals can help make movement a positive and empowering part of your routine.
