Monmouth College seeks applications for a two-year, assistant/associate level Social Foundations position in Preservice Teacher Education within the Department of Educational Studies beginning August 2024. Educational Studies works with the Monmouth College students within its elementary and secondary licensure programs, Educational Studies (non-licensure) major and minor, and MC Core Curriculum.
Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate candidate courses within the preservice teacher education program and the educational studies major/minor. Applicants must possess comprehensive knowledge of elementary & secondary level pedagogy, committed to excellence in teaching, and willing to collaborate with the community and area schools to form productive relationships. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Educational Foundations (educational psychology, history and philosophy of education, educational theories, and human growth and development).
Faculty teach three courses per semester and advise undergraduate students. The successful applicant must demonstrate strong potential for excellent teaching, service in a liberal arts college setting, and academic scholarship.
Preferred candidates possess a Ph.D./Ed.D; ABD or M.A. in Teacher Education, or other closely related field will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants who are qualified to teach in multiple content areas and have at least 3 years of full-time teaching experience in K-12 or equivalent classroom settings.

MONMOUTH COLLEGE invites applications for a two-year visiting position in statistics and mathematics to begin August 2024. We are looking for candidates interested in teaching undergraduate courses in statistics and mathematics. The candidate must have or expect to have a graduate level degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field by the position’s start date. The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science offers majors and minors in computer science and mathematics and a minor in data science. A full teaching load at Monmouth College averages three courses per semester with two semesters per academic year; the successful candidate should expect half or more of this load to be courses in statistics. Competitive candidates will exhibit strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research in a liberal arts setting. In addition to teaching the full range of courses in statistics and mathematics, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in directing the senior research experience for our majors. Reporting to the Director of Running Programs, the Head Women’s Cross Country/Distance Coach is responsible for all aspects of the Cross Country/Distance program as well as being committed to the academic mission of the College. The Head Cross Country-Distance Coach teaches the sport of distance running to student athletes, and provides for the coaching, recruitment and retention of distance runners.

Monmouth College seeks applications for a full-time, ten-month/year, non-exempt Biology Lab Manager beginning August 2024.
Job description: Oversee biology laboratory program; oversee biology equipment and facilities; oversee nearby field sites administered by the college.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage laboratories for the Biology Department, including:
- Ensure a safe laboratory environment for faculty and students (prepare lab safety materials,
train students, and coordinate faculty training as required in compliance with OSHA standards);
- Prepare lab setups (equipment, specimens, solutions, and materials) as required for all biology courses;
- Initiate and perform/request equipment maintenance and repair;
- Train, supervise, and evaluate student teaching assistants.
- Coordinate and manage stockroom and facilities, including:
- Oversee inventory and ordering for biology stockroom and labs;
- Supervise greenhouse maintenance;
- Maintain teaching collections and herbarium;
- Oversee live animals.
- Oversee nearby field sites administered by the college (Hamilton Pond, Spring Grove Cemetery, and the LeSuer Nature Preserve), including:
- Performing controlled burns of the foliage in the latter two sites each spring;
- Identifying and removing invasive species
- Planting new trees on a yearly basis.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor degree in physical sciences (biology preferred). Previous lab experiences preferred.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer is primarily responsible for assisting the head athletic trainer in the management of the sports medicine enterprise in the athletics department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the direction and coordination of all coverage and services of the athletic training room, assisting with the management of all aspects of student-athlete medical care while participating, communicating regularly with appropriate personnel, contributing as a full member of the athletics department and Monmouth College community. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will operate in accordance with NATA, NCAA, Midwest Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference, St Louis Intercollegiate Golf Conference and Monmouth College rules and procedures.
