Music

Music is a huge part of our history and heritage. You will know you’re home when bagpipes give you goosebumps and you can sing ‘A Flame of White and Crimson’  from memory.

Why study or make music at Monmouth?

Because music is more than sound; it’s what makes life vibrant, rich, and meaningful. As Henry Thoreau wrote, “music is the sound of circulation in nature’s veins.” If you feel the same, Monmouth’s music community will be a great fit for you.

Our campus is alive with music year-round — from the annual Christmas at Monmouth concert, to the Fighting Scots Marching Band bringing energy to the stands, to the unmistakable sound of bagpipes at campus events.

At Monmouth, you’ll have the chance to study with expert faculty, perform in outstanding ensembles, and take courses that deepen your knowledge of music. Best of all, our music opportunities are open to everyone — whether you major in music or simply want to keep making it part of your life.
