Performance spaces

Wells Theater is a 180-seat proscenium venue that features: a counterweighted fly system; computerized lighting control and intelligent fixtures; two digital soundboards with multiple layers, QLab 5 software, and Shure and Sennheiser digital body microphones; large scenic and costume shops; a design lab with a CAD system, 3D printer, and large format printer; and front-of-house operations utilizing Purple Pass ticketing system.

Hewes Studio Theatre is a 60-seat black box venue that features: advanced rear-projection technology, computerized lighting control and intelligent fixtures; a digital soundboard with multiple layers, and QLab 5 software; and front-of-house operations utilizing Purple Pass ticketing system.

Launch Fine Arts

Internships

An internship bridges the gap between academic work and professional work. Our students have completed internships with Davenport Junior Theatre, Buchanan Center for the Arts, Indy Shakes, Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Florida Studio Theatre, and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Theatre faculty advise students in finding internships and completing the application process.
