Introduction to Health Careers class
In addition to a wide variety of science courses and majors, we also offer an “Introduction to Health Careers” class for students interested in exploring medicine or other health professions.
The class is designed to inform students about career choices in the health professions and to review expectations required for successful applicants to professional school. The class features guest speakers and hands-on activities such as suturing and blood pressure checks.
Doc Kieft Chemistry Summer Research Program
The Richard “Doc” Kieft endowment, set up by a former Monmouth chemistry professor, provides funding for up to a dozen chemistry or biochemistry students research assistants each summer. Students apply for the Doc Kieft Scholarship as part of their admissions process. The funding also supports travel expenses so that up to 16 students per year can attend and present their work at the the American Chemical Society national meeting.
